CruzHacks 2023

Overview

CruzHacks is UC Santa Cruz's annual hackathon, bringing together students to build projects over a 24-hour period. In 2023, the submission won the Best SlugHack award, given to the project that best addresses a real problem faced by UCSC students.

Highlights

• Built a tool to intelligently allocate student meal points across the academic quarter using heuristics and consumption modeling
• Designed to minimize leftover points at the end of the quarter — a common frustration for students on meal plans
• Won the Best SlugHack award, recognizing the project's direct impact on a genuine campus need
